Annaliese Morgan [DipAVN (Surgical) RVN MBVNA] has worked in the veterinary profession for 18 years, qualifying as a Veterinary Nurse back in 1997. Since then Annaliese has gained the well regarded and respected advanced surgery diploma and a handful of other qualifications to boot.
After spending 15 years in small and mixed animal practice (which included management of the team, the practice, as well as all the clinical work), Annaliese opened her own business in July 2008, Fuchsia Pet Health Spa.
In a luxury environment, Fuchsia combines high standard preventative healthcare and grooming, along with education and exceptional client care. The British Veterinary Nursing Association awarded her the VN Times in October 2008 for her continued work within veterinary nursing.
The idea and subsequent business was created from scratch and she created all of this entirely on her own in to what is now a successful and remarkable business. It is unusual for Veterinary Nurses to own their own businesses within their field and profession. Mixed with overcoming several adversities, Annaliese is certainly not afraid or willing to give up on passion. This was the first of its kind in the UK and currently she is based in West Yorkshire.
Annaliese is also a writer, having written many articles over the years as well as four veterinary nursing text books. Her fifth book, which is aimed at pet owners and is a further extension to her business, was released June 2011 and is already selling well and has even reached Australia.

Richard Nissen is a British businessman and entrepreneur. He is the founder of The Virtual Office Group, a company aimed at small businesses offering flexible business solutions from serviced offices to Virtual receptionist service, and Staunch & Flow, a successful Plumbing company.
Richard Nissen came up with the idea of setting up a business centre in Mayfair subsequent to business sojourns overseas in America and the Far East in the seventies where he was frustrated by the lack of secretarial assistance in his business dealings, or suitable professional environments in which to conduct private meetings. On his return to the UK in 1980, he established Business Space Ltd, superior serviced offices in prestigious Piccadilly to provide flexible business accommodation and support services to an expanding SME market. There were only three other contenders in the field at that time, all in Mayfair, one of which is still in business today. These were the first entrepreneurs to offer the “all-in-one” office space and support services at the same price.
Richard subsequently set up EEIG [European Economic Interest Group], a global office network, in Europe. In 1983, Richard also established and headed up the ABC (Association of Business Centres) in the UK which in 1989 was renamed the BCA (Business Centres Association) of the UK. The concept upon which the association was founded was to afford the industry with a forum through which anyone could cross-check clientele references and backgrounds, and collectively promote the industry (via advertising and promotions).
In 1992, in a similarly challenging economic climate, he pioneered and registered the “Virtual Office” telecommunications solution allowing non-resident city professionals to project a central London address and telephone prefix with a selection of reliable support services. In the same year Nissen co-founded what is known today as the ABCN (Alliance of Business Centres Network) to provide access to over 600 locations in over 42 countries worldwide. In 1996 the Group became a certified ISO 9001 company by the BVQi – the British arm of the prestigious global standardisation association in order to ensure premium service standards. It is believed that the VOG is the only serviced office provider internationally to be the holder of this coveted industry benchmark of excellence.
Richard has been a guest lecturer at the Cass Business School for the last decade where he presents the latest trends and findings relating to working patterns and how to manage and structure ‘virtual organisations’, i.e. making the most of new technology to enable flexible working.

I’m a no-nonsense start-up catalyst. A passionate mentor. A creator of brand strategies. But that’s when I’m in the office. When I’ve got my shorts on, I’m a travel junkie. I’m a world pen pal. I’m excited about life.
I think business is like life itself. You get out of it what you put into it. If you’re not happy, speak up. If you work together, you’re going to achieve more. If you smile, then the world will smile with you.
I live by the philosophy that you’re only ever as good as the people that surround you, the opportunities that you take, the mistakes that you make, the mindset you develop, and of course, the luck you create.
I especially have a wonder and honest curiosity in people. People chasing dreams. People with extraordinary talents. People with brave ideas. People who need a helping hand. Meeting new people is at my every consideration.
You can learn more about me at my website. This is my home, in business, and for life. If you’re passionate about something. Join me. And if I can help you with your start-up as an advisor, then feel free to reach out.
“I set up my own business called Communicate at the age of 28 from a spare room in my house. Since then Communicate has become a multi million pound firm across four specialist markets, based on Strand in Central London and the company continues to grow. Communicate has been shortlisted “Agency of the Year” two years running and count over fifty of the FTSE 100 as clients.
I started my career in recruitment at a large international agency. After several years of working in a corporate, KPI driven environment my clients taught me that there was room in the market for a personalised approach to quality, customer focussed recruitment that was fast and effective. To this day client relationships, quality and speed remain at the heart of my business. One of our unique selling points is the speed at which we recruit executive level positions - roughly two to three times faster than our larger competitors - whilst maintaining a high level of quality.
I believe in entrepreneurial spirit and am happy to help nurture this spirit wherever possible! If you are interested in building a quality business then, I would be more than happy to share with you some of the stepping stones to success and the risks to look out for along the way.”

At the tender age of just seventeen, Geoff established his first business Central Buses in 2003 with one vehicle. The company now operates a fleet of twenty five buses on a network of local bus routes and school contracts in Warwickshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. Under Geoff's guidance, the company has evolved into one with an ethos of wanting passengers to choose to travel with them rather than using their services through necessity. Despite difficult operating conditions, the company has risen to the challenge by upgrading its fleet, training its staff and tailoring its service to meet customer needs. The company has developed a reputation as good as any in the passenger transport industry, with high reliability and punctuality levels and a strong fleet investment including the purchase of four brand new single deck vehicles in the Summer of 2012.
Geoff created his second business Centrad in 2006 which manufacturers and supplies Electronic Destination Displays and Mobile CCTV systems for the passenger transport industry. The opportunity came about when Geoff initially had difficulty sourcing the equipment from UK suppliers for his own fleet at a reasonable cost. Geoff was determined the product could be manufactured for a fraction of the costs he was quoted and from then on developed a business plan to manufacture his own systems. The first systems were manufactured and trialed in his own fleet of vehicles and once proven the systems were marketed and sold to other operators.
Both Central Buses and Centrad trade under the CenGroup umbrella, which now employs over 35 staff and have an annual turnover in excess of £2 million.
Grant graduated with a 2:1 degree from Queen Mary College, University of London, in 1996 and studied a PGCE at the Institute of Education the following year. Instead of a career in education he joined Hays Plc in 1997 developing specialist skills in recruiting professional finance and accountancy staff. This led to his first headhunting role finding Chief Financial Officers for start-up internet/e-commerce businesses across Europe in 2000/1. In late 2001 he joined The Bernard Hodes Group where he spent over five years building and leading the Public Sector and Not-for-Profit Practice for Macmillan Davies Hodes, providing HR professionals to a range of organisations including local government, police, NHS and charities. This then led to the formation of Hodes Public Service an executive search practice where amongst other roles he worked to appoint the Chief Executive of Victim Support, a number of Directors for the MS Society and the Chair and a new Trustee for Avenues.
Then Grant joined the now leading executive search firm in local government where he honed his experience recruiting across most areas of local government at senior executive level, as well as building the business with charities, which resulted in significant executive and Trustee appointments for organisations such as WaterAid and Shelter.
Prior to establishing Peridot Partners Grant led TMP Worldwide's Executive Search Practice, which included leading the process of appointing a Chair and 10 Trustees for the new pan-sector skills body called Skills-Third Sector. He also led multiple national searches and recruited some of the best Headteachers for schools and academies across the UK.
Since August 2009 when Grant set up Peridot Partners, the business has outperformed the competition and grown over 100% year on year in a challenging recruitment market. Peridot Partners now has a team of 8 highly experienced staff, many of whom are amongst the best in their industry. Peridot Partners have in their short life become national preferred suppliers for recruitment to Students' Unions through the National Union of Students, and have fast growing charity and local government recruitment divisions.
Grant is also a Trustee of Working Families and the Evelina Children's Heart Organisation.

Jeroen is one of the most upbeat Accountancy Plus and Small Business Advisor around; which isn't surprising after transforming his circumstances from being homeless to becoming the Founder of "Double Seven Square", within just 6 months.
"Double Seven Square", is a Cloud based accountancy provider. With Jeroen's collaborative and lean business models, he has been able to prepare companies for investment, lead them through the startup phase and helped to achieve significant growth and efficiency.
Whilst some may see Jeroen built more for the rugby pitch as opposed to a desk with a high interest in technology and numbers; the Dutch 'friendly giant' has nothing but other peoples needs at heart.
Jeroen's humility and charisma, along with some additional banter and unexpected laughs, which isn't normally found within our number crunching accountant community, makes him even more approachable and highly recommendable. There's very little that can hold this man back, which is why Jeroen is also a specialist in the tech start-up and pop-up restaurant / shop scene.

I have spent all my life working for entrepreneurs directly or running my own enterprise.
I have only really spent a few years in what you would consider a corporate job. That was more than sufficient to convince me that self-employment is the answer.
I started out working for three entrepreneurs, who had a hotel marketing business in the States, I helped them grow that business to operating in over 50 countries and lived and set up business in some very challenging places like Turkey, Morocco, Poland & Czech Republic.
I then returned to UK, after many years aboard and got involved in the serviced office industry when it was starting out and growing. I worked for a two of the largest players helping them grow.
In 2004, the right opportunity came, I left the paid for employment world and set up my own business, as I had a passion which I have never lost, for customer service. I set up Office Planet, which at the time created a big change in the world of serviced office broking.
This then lead me to 2012 and I saw the evolution from paid for employment for all to self-employment for all. This was the spark that gave me the inspiration to set up @Work Hubs with my partner, which is a unique co-working environment that enables people to connect, network and grow themselves and their enterprise, without the need for commitment.
My vision is to take co-working hubs to every village, town and city high street to enable the ever growing self-employment economy to be able to collaborate, connect with other like minded people, network and grow themselves and their enterprise.
